威廉·科利 (1862 - 1936), 癌症免疫治疗的先驱。100 多年前，科利从一位自愈的癌症病人身上找到治疗癌症的灵感，他将含有灭活的酿脓链球菌和粘质沙雷菌的混合液进行滤过，制备成为科利毒素， 并将该毒素用于治疗癌症患者。 虽然在他的有生之年其疗法未被证明有效，但科利毒素的运用开启了现代免疫学与靶向治疗的大门。 为纪念这位“肿瘤免疫疗法之父”，肿瘤免疫学的最高荣誉被命名为“威廉·科利奖”。 该雕塑由梁晔荣先生捐赠。

William Coley (1862 - 1936) was a pioneer in cancer immunotherapy. Over 100 years ago, Coley found inspiration for treating cancer from a patient who had spontaneously recovered from the disease. He filtered a mixture containing inactivated Streptococcus pyogenes and Serratia marcescens to prepare Coley's toxins, which he used to treat cancer patients. Although his therapy was not proven effective during his lifetime, the use of Coley's toxins opened the door to modern immunology and targeted therapy. In honor of this, "Father of Cancer Immunotherapy," the highest honor in cancer immunology is named the "William B. Coley Award." This sculpture was donated by Mr. Maxime Liang, Vice President of Concord Medical.
