维克托·A·麦库西克 (1921 - 2008), 美国内科医师、遗传学家，美国约翰·霍普金斯大学医学院前任医学遗传学教授。 因绘制人类基因组图谱而闻名，著有《孟德尔人类遗传学》。认为“遗传疾病是终生的慢性疾病”， 最早提出将基因图谱作为先天性疾病的研究工具，被誉为医学遗传学之父，曾荣获美国国家科学奖。 他还是位优秀教师，他告诫学生，如果想在某项研究领域达到最高水平，首先需对该领域的过去和现在有详细的理解，才能做出重大发现。

Victor A. McKusick (1921 - 2008) was an American internist and geneticist, and former professor of Medical Genetics at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, USA. He is known for mapping the human genome and is the author of "Mendelian Human Genetics". He believed that "genetic diseases are lifelong chronic diseases" and was the first to propose the use of genome mapping as a tool for the study of congenital diseases. He was also an excellent teacher and advised his students that in order to achieve the highest level of research in a particular field, they must first have a detailed understanding of the field's past and present before making significant discoveries. This sculpture was donated by Guangzhou Union Easylab Medical Laboratory Co., Ltd.
