质子治疗是现今最先进的癌症疗法之一,是国际公认的放疗尖端技术。其原理是利用回旋加速器产生高能质子束,这些质子束可以精准消灭癌细胞而保护肿瘤周围的正常组织。广州泰和肿瘤医院引进的瓦里安 ProBeam 质子治疗系统于 2019 年吊装成功,现已进入临床试验阶段。设备投入使用后,将打破我省质子治疗领域的空白,并造福广大的粤港澳大湾区的肿瘤患者。广州泰和肿瘤医院的这套质子治疗系统由如下部分组成:一个重达 90 吨的超导回旋加速器用于产生质子、并提升质子的速度达到光速的 60%;一个长达 80 米的质子束流传输系统;4个治疗室,其中都配置了360度旋转机架。
Proton therapy is one of the most advanced cancer treatment methods today and is internationally recognized as a cutting-edge radiation therapy technique. Its principle involves using a cyclotron to generate high-energy proton beams that precisely destroy cancer cells while sparing surrounding healthy tissues. The Varian ProBeam proton therapy system in Guangzhou Concord Cancer Center was successfully installed in 2019 and has now entered the clinical trial stage. Once the equipment is put into use, it will fill the gap in proton therapy in our province and help numerous cancer patients from Guangdong - Hong Kong - Macao Greater Bay Area. The proton therapy system at Guangzhou Concord Cancer Center includes the following components: a 90-ton superconducting cyclotron that generates and accelerates protons to 60% of the speed of light, an 80-meter proton beam transport system, and four treatment rooms. Each treatment room is equipped with a 360-degree rotating gantry.
