亨利·诺尔曼·白求恩 (1890 - 1939), 加拿大著名胸外科医师，1916 年毕业于多伦多大学。白求恩毕生发明了十多件手术器械，其中一款名为“白求恩肋骨剪”的手术器械至今还在广泛使用。 1937 年西班牙内战期间，白求恩医生前往前线救助伤员，并且发展了移动输血车。1938 年初，白求恩医生组织医疗队援华抗日、救助患病的村民以及受伤的将士。他先后创办了八路军冀中模范医院、卫生学校，后牺牲于河北唐县。他因利他奉献精神成为中国医学界的楷模。 该雕塑由丘秀芳女士捐赠，捐赠附言为：给敬业精神立像，让奉献文化传扬，为患者带来宽慰，祈苍生永世平安。

Henry Norman Bethune (1890 - 1939) was a renowned Canadian thoracic surgeon who graduated from the University of Toronto in 1916. He invented more than ten surgical instruments over the course of his career, including the "Bethune Rib Shears," which are still widely used today. During the Spanish Civil War in 1937, Dr. Bethune went to the frontlines to help wounded soldiers and developed mobile blood transfusion vehicles. In early 1938, he organized a medical team to aid China in its resistance against Japan, providing medical assistance to sick villagers and injured soldiers. He founded the Eighth Route Army Model Hospital and School of Health and ultimately sacrificed his life in Tang Xian, Hebei. Dr. Bethune is a role model in the field of medicine for his selfless dedication. Ms. Qiu Xiufang donated the sculpture along with the following message: "To create a statue representing the spirit of professionalism, to spread a culture of dedication, to bring comfort to patients, and to pray for everlasting peace for all."
